Nostalgia.  We all love a bit of it at times. In our career - looking back on moments that defined us or nearly broke us! In our career relationships even - people that we worked with years and years ago who, even now, we could pick up and enjoy a drink with and it would be like the world had stood still.

Nostalgia is a popular sentiment in the merchandise world. Items adorned with “old logos” or anniversary dates are forever in demand.  Maybe because the right merchandise, designed to have a use for the recipient, that enhances their love of the brand through the creative applied, ultimately creates something that the person getting the merchandise wants to share or show off - it brings a bit of joy in itself. So, when you add on a “memory” from a previous time in life, it simply makes you love it more.  Discover more about the power of nostalgia in marketing here.

One of my favourite times as a parent was seeing How to Train your Dragon with Lewis when he was young. Over and over and over again. And then repeat, repeat, repeat when we bought the DVD. When I heard the live action remake comes to cinemas in June I was over the moon. I will be there with my popcorn reliving that time spent together. I guess I may have to take this with me if Lewis isn’t mad on the idea.
