The Bear Necessities

No need to avert your eyes as the cuteness in the photo. We know we know. Tugs on the heartstrings. Brings a tear to your eye. Well, it will do, if you’re a brand and you’re giving away cuddly toys to customers (or selling them as part of a merchandise range online) and you don’t know the following.

A teddy bear must conform to strict safety testing and regulation. It even has a scary name. EN71.

Since leaving the EU, the UK actually retained EN71 as its toy safety standard. It’s widely regarded as one of the world's most stringent toy safety standards and applies to a huge range of toys, including educational toys, arts and crafts, electric toys and yes even Bobo the bear.

If you put unapproved, untested, rogue soft toys into the hands of children, then you’re asking for trouble.

And nobody likes Bobo when he’s angry.

This is why you need to work with experts who understand the importance of due diligence, testing and compliance processes when it comes to merchandise manufacturing.
We’ve done it for 30 years. In fact to us you might say it’s child’s play.
